گیاه چای ترش یکی از گیاهان مهم دارویی و صنعتی از خانواده پنیرکیان است که در سطح وسیعی از استان سیستان و بلوچستان کشت می‌شود. در یک مطالعه آزمایشگاهی، تأثیر درجه حرارت‌های مختلف بر جوانه‌زنی بذرهای گیاه چای ترش مورد بررسی قرار گرفت و درجه حرارت‌های کمینه، بهینه و بیشینه جوانه‌زنی آن‌ها، به‌صورت طرح کاملاً تصادفی با چهار تکرار تعیین شد. برای این منظور تیمارهای دمایی 5، 10، 15، 20، 25، 30، 35، 40، 45 و 50 درجه سانتی‌گراد در نظر گرفته شد. دماهای ویژه جوانه‌زنی بذر بر اساس سه مدل خطوط متقاطع، مدل پنج پارامتری بتا و مدل چندجمله‌ای درجه دو برآورد شد. صفات مورداندازه‌گیری عبارت بودند از درصد جوانه‌زنی، سرعت جوانه‌زنی و میانگین زمان جوانه‌زنی که اثر دما بر تمامی صفات مورد اندازه‌گیری معنی‌دار بود. نتایج به‌دست‌آمده از تجزیه رگرسیون داده‌ها نشان داد که بهترین مدل در ارتباط با دمای ویژه این گیاه مدل پنج پارامتری بتا بود و با توجه به نتایج به‌دست‌آمده از این مدل، می‌توان گفت که دمای کمینه و بهینه چای ترش به ترتیب 04/4 و 83/29 درجه سانتی‌گراد است.
