چکیده
بیماری‌ها معمولا سبب خسارت اقتصادی و کاهش رشد و نمو و میزان محصول گیاهان می‌شوند.  مدیریت بیماری‌های گیاهی، با سم­های شیمیایی ممکن است اثر سویی بر محیط‌زیست، بروز مقاومت در بیمارگرها و از بین رفتن جانداران مفید ‌داشته باشد، بنابراین یافتن روش‌های جایگزین مانند شناسایی و استفاده از ریزجانداران متعارض برای مدیریت بیماریها مورد توجه پژوهشگران قرار گرفته است. تعدادی از قارچ‌های درون­رست که بدون هیچ آسیب و نشانه­ای داخل بافت گیاه میزبان رشد می‌کنند به عنوان عامل مهار زیستی بعضی از بیماریهای گیاهی شناخته شده­اند. قارچ‌های درون­رست با سازوکارهای مختلفی مانند تولید مواد پادزیست، رقابت، القای مقاومت و پارازیته کردن مستقیم بیمارگر، موجب تضعیف یا از بین رفتن بیمارگرها می‌شوند. این قارچ‌ها همچنین می‌توانند با تولید ترکیبهای آنتی‌اکسیدانت و ضدتومور و هورمون‌های مختلف رشد، به افزایش رشد و مقاومت گیاه میزبان در برابر تنش‌های مختلف کمک کنند.
