بیماری شانکر باکتریایی از بیماریهای مهم و اقتصادی گوجه فرنگی است که توسط باکتری Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis ایجاد میشود. بوت ههای بیمار برگهای رنگ پریده، زرد و خشک و ساقه هایی با نشانه های نوارهای کم‌رنگ تا بی‌رنگ و در حالت پیشرفت شانکر دارند و پژمردگی بوته ها مشاهده میشود. کشت بذر و نشاهای عاری از بیمارگر ، رعایت بهداشت گلخانه و مزرعه و مقررات قرنطینه در مناطق آلوده، آیش و تناوب با گیاهان غیر از تیره Solanaceae شخم زدن زمین پس از برداشت محصول، آبیاری قطرهای و محلول‌پاشی بوته های بیمار با ترکیبات مسی از راهکارهای مدیریت بیماری هستند.
