این تحقیق به‌منظور بررسی اثر دماهای مختلف بر جوانه‌زنی و تعیین دمای کاردینال جوانه‌زنی (دمای پایه، مطلوب و بیشینه جوانه‌زنی) چاودار کوهی، در دماهای 3، 5، 10، 15، 20، 25، 30 و 35 درجه سانتی‌گراد به اجرا درآمد. جهت کمی‌سازی واکنش سرعت جوانه‌زنی بذر چاودار کوهی به دما از 3 مدل رگرسیون غیرخطی دوتکه‌ای، دندان مانند و بتا استفاده شد. نتایج نشان داد که دما علاوه بر درصد جوانه‌زنی بر سرعت جوانه‌زنی نیز اثرگذار است. در مقایسه 3 مدل استفاده‌شده با توجه به پارامترهای RMSE، CV، SE و نمودار خط 1:1، مناسب‌ترین مدل جهت تخمین دماهای کاردینال چاودار کوهی مدل دندان مانند و بتا گزارش شد؛ اما به‌دلیل بالا بودن SE برای دمای پایه و تخمین منفی دمای پایه در مدل بتا می‌توان از بین دو مدل دندان مانند و بتا، مدل دندان مانند را به‌عنوان مناسب‌ترین مدل گزارش کرد. دمای پایه، مطلوب تحتانی، مطلوب فوقانی و سقف با استفاده از مدل دندان مانند به‌ترتیب بین 70/2 تا 17/3، 27/21 تا 00/30 و 00/35 تا 05/35 درجه سانتی‌گراد متغیر بود؛ بنابراین با استفاده از مدل دندان مانند و پارامترهای تخمین زده شده می‌توان از این مدل در تهیه و ارزیابی مدل‌های پیش‌بینی جوانه‌زنی استفاده کرد.
