بلاست ناشی از Pyricularia grisea یکی از مهم‌ترین و مخرب‌ترین بیماری‌های برنج در سراسر جهان بوده که سالانه خسارت قابل‌توجهی به این محصول وارد نموده و سبب کاهش عملکرد آن می‌گردد. با توجه به این‌که در حال حاضر، مصرف سموم شیمیایی در راستای کنترل این بیماری رواج بسیاری پیدا کرده و از طرفی، می‌تواند اثرات مخربی بر روی محیط زیست بگذارد، پژوهش حاضر با هدف بررسی پتانسیل Bacillus subtilis و Trichoderma harzianum برای مهار زیستی بیماری در برنج رقم هاشمی انجام شد. در این پژوهش، تاثیر دو عامل مهار زیستی T. harzianum و B. subtilis به‌تنهایی یا در ترکیب با یکدیگر، به سه روش بذرمال، آغشته‌سازی نشاء و آبیاری، مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. یافته‌ها نشان داد که در تمامی شاخص‌های رشدی مورد مطالعه از قبیل وزن تر، وزن خشک و طول شاخساره، وزن تر، وزن خشک و طول ریشه و هم‌چنین شاخص‌های بیماری‌زایی مانند درصد آلودگی سطح برگ، شدت بیماری و درصد کاهش بیماری، استفاده از B. subtilis به‌تنهایی و یا در ترکیب با T. harzianum به‌صورت بذرمال، بهترین عملکرد را داشتند. بنابراین کاربرد باکتریB. subtilis به ‌تنهایی یا در ترکیب با T. harzianum به‌ویژه به‌روش بذرمال، بیشترین تاثیر را در کاهش بیماری بلاست برنج و مدیریت بیماری و هم‌چنین بهبود شاخص‌های رشدی این گیاه داشته و می‌تواند به‌عنوان یک روش کاربردی در راستای مهار زیستی این بیماری، توسط کشاورزان مورد  استفاده قرار گیرد.
