مطالعه ساختار جامعه نماتدها می‌تواند خاک‌های سالم و ناسالم را از نظر تنوع زیستی و شبکه غذایی مشخص کند و این اطلاعات برای مدیریت شبکه‌های غذایی خاک سودمند است. مطالعه ساختار جامعه نماتدها به عنوان شاخص زیستی سلامت خاک براساس ارزیابی شاخص‌های تنوع زیستی، گروه‌های تغذیه، دینامیک جمعیت، پروفیل شبکه غذایی خاک، زیست‌توده و نگاره متابولیک است. کاربردهای عملی مطالعه ساختار جامعه نماتدها در زیست‌بوم‌های کشاورزی و طبیعی شرح داده شده است.
