به‌منظور بررسی اثر رطوبت‌های مختلف بذر در هنگام برداشت و دمای خشک‌کردن بر خصوصیات جوانه‌زنی بذر سویا آزمایشی به‌صورت یک آزمایش فاکتوریل 2×3×2 بر پایه طرح بلوک‌های کامل تصادفی با سه تکرار در دو منطقه مغان و کرج انجام شد. عامل اول رقم در دو سطح (ویلیامز و L17)، عامل دوم رطوبت زمان برداشت در سه سطح (15،20 و 25 درصد) و عامل سوم دمای خشک‌کن در دو سطح (30 و 45 درجه سانتی‌گراد) بودند. نتایج نشان داد که درصد جوانه‌زنی بذرهای تولیدی منطقه کرج (3/81%) نسبت به درصد جوانه‌زنی بذرهای تولید شده در مغان (4/77%) بیشتر بود. تفاوت بین درصد جوانه‌زنی بذرهایی که با دمای 30 و 45 درجه سانتی‌گراد خشک شده بودند در بذرهای با رطوبت 15% حدود 5/5% بود درحالی‌که این تفاوت در بذرهای با رطوبت 25% حدود 5/18% بود. در بذرهای تولیدی منطقه کرج با رطوبت 15 درصد، شاخص بنیه گیاهچه در هر دو رقم تفاوت معنی‌داری نداشت اما این شاخص در رطوبت 20 درصد در رقم ویلیامز (7/139) بیشتر از رقم L17 (3/107) بود. بیشترین مقدار هدایت الکتریکی محلول تراوش یافته از بذر (42/51 میکرو زیمنس بر سانتی‌متر بر گرم) از بذرهای رقم L17 با رطوبت 25 درصد در دمای 45 درجه سانتی‌گراد به دست آمد و کم‌ترین آن (46/28 میکرو زیمنس بر سانتی‌متر بر گرم) در بذرهای رقم ویلیامز با رطوبت 20% که با دمای 30 درجه سانتی‌گراد خشک شده بودند مشاهده گردید. با توجه به نتایج حاصله بایستی بلافاصله پس از رسیدن رطوبت بذرهای سویا به زیر 20 درصد نسبت به برداشت و خشک کردن بذر در منطقه مغان در دمای 30 درجه سانتی‌گراد اقدام شود.
