سرعت و درصد جوانه‌زنی در دماهای مطلوب در حداکثر و در دماهای پایه و سقف در حداقل است. به‌منظور بررسی واکنش جوانه‌زنی به دما و ارزیابی دماهای کاردینال برای درصد و سرعت جوانه‌زنی در چای ترش آزمایشی در قالب طرح کاملاً تصادفی با 4 تکرار در آزمایشگاه دانشگاه گنبد کاووس انجام شد. بذرها از دمای صفر تا 45 درجه سانتی‌گراد با فاصله 5 درجه از یکدیگر تحت جوانه‌زنی قرار گرفتند. نتایج نشان داد که واکنش درصد و سرعت جوانه‌زنی به دما به ترتیب با تابع دندان مانند و دوتکه‌ای به‌خوبی برازش یافتند. دماهای پایه و سقف برای درصد جوانه‌زنی 66/1 و 33/43 درجه سانتی‌گراد و برای سرعت جوانه‌زنی 53/4 و 95/42 درجه سانتی‌گراد به دست آمد. دمای مطلوب برای سرعت جوانه‌زنی 30 درجه سانتی‌گراد و برای درصد جوانه‌زنی در دامنه دمایی 56/11 و 63/33 درجه سانتی‌گراد بود؛ بنابراین به‌طور کلی می‌توان گفت که دمای پایه و مطلوب چای ترش به ترتیب حدود 11 و 35 درجه سانتی‌گراد است. از این رو در شرایط گنبد قابل کشت و کار است.
