Author Guidelines

1. Manuscript Structure

Submitted manuscripts to the "Applied Nanomaterials" should follow the standard structure below:

A) Title Page

• Title: in Persian and English (concise, informative, and comprehensive)

• Authors' Full Names and Affiliations: including academic rank and ORCID if available

• Corresponding Author: complete contact information (email, phone number, postal address)

• Article Type: Research Article, Review, Case Report, Letter to the Editor, etc.

B) Abstract

• Persian Abstract: maximum 250 words, including Objective, Methods, Key Results, and Conclusion

• English Abstract: maximum 250 words, equivalent to the Persian abstract

• Keywords: 3 to 6 keywords in Persian and English

C) Main Text

• Introduction: problem statement, literature review, objectives, and novelty

• Materials and Methods: detailed description of materials, equipment, synthesis methods, characterization, and tests

• Results and Discussion: presentation of results with scientific analysis and interpretation

• Conclusion: summary of findings and suggestions

• Acknowledgments: if applicable

• Conflict of Interest: if applicable

• References: according to the required format

• Format: JPEG, PNG, or TIFF with minimum 300 dpi resolution

• Size: proportionate to the page (maximum 15×20 cm)

• Caption: below each figure in Persian and English

• Readability: all text within figures must be legible

• Color: suitable colors (should be distinguishable in black and white)

4. Tables

• Title: above each table in Persian and English

• Numbering: tables numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, ...)

• Lines: horizontal lines only (no vertical lines)

• Clarity: table information must be clear and understandable

5. References Format

References should follow APA (7th edition) format:

• References are listed at the end of the article in order of citation

• In the text, references are cited with numbers (e.g., [1])

• All references must be cited in the text

6. Supplementary Materials (if applicable)

• Additional information not included in the main text can be provided in the Appendix

• Appendices are labeled with letters (A, B, C, ...)

7. Ethical Considerations

• Originality: The manuscript must not have been published previously or be under review elsewhere

• Plagiarism: Any form of plagiarism is prohibited and will result in rejection

• Author Approval: All authors must approve the final version

• Ethical Approval: For studies involving human or animal subjects, ethical committee approval is required

8. Submission Process

• Manuscripts should be submitted through the journal's online submission system

• Required files:

  • Main manuscript (without author information for blind review)

  • Title page (including complete author information)

  • Cover letter and authorship statement

  • Figures and tables (separately if applicable)

9. Review Process

1. Initial Screening: by Editor-in-Chief for scope and formatting compliance

2. Peer Review: sent to at least 2 expert reviewers (Double-Blind Peer Review)

3. Decision: one of the following is communicated to the author:

   • Accept

   • Minor Revision

   • Major Revision

   • Reject

4. Revisions: authors have a maximum of 4 weeks to make revisions

5. Final Approval: after reviewers' and Editor-in-Chief's approval, the manuscript is accepted for publication

10. Additional Notes

• Publication Fee: No fees – Free Publication (APC covered by Yasouj University)

• Copyright: Upon acceptance, the copyright is transferred to the journal

• Indexing: Efforts for indexing in reputable databases

• Template: A Word template is available on the journal website

• Suggested Reviewers: Authors may suggest 3-5 potential reviewers with their emails

• Plagiarism Check: All manuscripts are checked with plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate)

Indexing and Database Establishment

Current Indexing Status

The "Applied Nanomaterials" has recently begun its activities. Currently, the journal is in the establishment and indexing acquisition phase with reputable domestic and international databases.

As the journal is newly established, the indexing process in databases requires administrative procedures and meeting necessary criteria, which is time-consuming. Therefore, no indexing has been performed in any database yet, and this is a priority for the journal.

Future Steps for Indexing

1. Publication of at least 2 issues (primary requirement for many databases)

2. Submission of documentation and indexing requests to domestic databases

3. Obtaining ISSN (if required)

4. Establishing DOI system through Crossref

5. Submitting applications to international databases (after publishing at least 2 issues)

Notification to Authors

After any indexing in databases is completed, authors and researchers will be notified through the journal website, email, and social media.

 

AI Usage Policy

1. Permitted Use

Use of AI tools is allowed for:

• Language editing and grammar correction

• Literature search and reference organization

• Text summarization and translation

• Creating schematic figures (with source citation)

2. Prohibited Use

Use of AI tools is strictly prohibited for:

• Generating full scientific content

• Creating fake references (hallucinated citations)

• Data analysis without verification

• Manipulating or fabricating data

• Violating intellectual property rights

3. Author Requirements

1. Disclosure: Authors must declare any use of AI tools in the Acknowledgments section or a separate section titled "Use of Artificial Intelligence."

2. Content Responsibility: Authors confirm that all content has been reviewed, verified, and edited by themselves, with AI used solely as a supplementary tool.

3. Source Verification: All references must be verified and accurate.

4. Transparency: Authors must specify the AI tool(s) used (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL) and describe how they were used.

4. Disclosure Statement Template

Use of Artificial Intelligence:
In preparing this manuscript, [Tool Name] was used for [language editing/translation/figure creation]. All scientific content, data, analysis, and conclusions were performed and approved by the authors. AI was used solely as a supplementary tool in writing and editing.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors bear full responsibility for the scientific accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethics of all content. Use of AI does not relieve authors of any responsibility. Authors must ensure:

• All data and results are accurate and valid

• All sources are properly cited

• The content is original and free of plagiarism

• All ethical guidelines have been followed

6. Review and Verification

The editorial board reserves the right to:

• Request additional information on AI usage

• Screen manuscripts with AI detection software

• Reject manuscripts in case of unauthorized AI use

7. Policy Updates

This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as needed to align with technological advancements and international standards. The latest version is always available on the journal website.

Q1: Is using Grammarly for language editing allowed?
A: Yes, provided it is disclosed in the Acknowledgments.

Q2: Can I use ChatGPT for summarizing articles?
A: Yes, as a supplementary tool, with proper disclosure.

Q3: Will my manuscript be rejected if I use AI?
A: No, if used transparently and in accordance with this policy. However, failure to disclose unauthorized use may result in rejection.

Important: AI tools do not replace human thinking, analysis, research, or authorship. Their role is to support and facilitate the writing process.
